Areas of mission focus for the College today include:

The collections of the Henry E. Eccles Library are developed to support the curriculum, and are especially rich in the areas of naval and military science, history and strategy, management, economics, international relations, international law, oceanography, and political science.

Additionally, the Naval Historical Collection holds the College Archives and special collections, including manuscript collections, personal papers of College presidents, faculty, and naval officers, oral histories of World War II veterans and flag rank naval officers, individual manuscript items, newspapers, pamphlets and association books.
The Library actively seeks opportunities to digitize and improve access to collections and unique historical materials that are in the public domain.
